A look back at the inspiration for and creation of the bakery building.
When you visit Baba À Louis Bakery in Chester, Vermont, you can’t help but be impressed by the building which houses the bakery. Recently, we reopened John’s old photo albums and scanned pictures of the journey that resulted in this amazing building. We’d like to share some with you.
This is the plot of land that was to be the new home of our bakery. As you can see. by the barn and the old stone foundations, the land itself has a history.
Obviously, a great deal of thought went into the design of the bakery building. Here is a glimpse of a few of the structures and architectural details that served as inspiration.
The design process did not stop at putting pencil to paper. Here’s a look at the cardboard model that John painstakingly created.
Once the design was firmly in place, it was time to break ground and build the foundation.
The arches that support this huge, open structure are truly impressive.
The building is really starting to take shape in these photos.
The work continued and the vision John had for his bakery building became a reality.
After 40 years in business, John is making plans for the future and considering options for selling the bakery business or leasing or selling the building for an alternative use. Please contact us to discuss your ideas.
